Patrick spent her next six years honing her skills with the auto racing team. In 2001, Danica Patrick returned to the US and signed with Rahal-Letterman Racing. Although she didn’t win the race, Patrick received the Gorsline Scholarship Award for being the most promising road course competitor. The following year, she competed in the Formula Ford Festival at Brands Hatch and emerged second. After racing in the UK for three years, Danica Patrick competed in the 1999 Formula Vauxhall Championship, emerging ninth. Things got even better for Patrick when Ford Motor Company decided to support her financially.
